WORD of the DAY
Wisdom is more mobile than anything that moves. She pervades and embraces everything because she is so pure. Wisdom is the warm breath of God’s power. She pours forth from the all-powerful One’s pure glory. Therefore, nothing impure can enter her. She’s the brightness that shines forth from eternal light. She’s a mirror that flawlessly reflects God’s activity. She’s the perfect image of God’s goodness. She can do anything, since she’s one and undivided. She never changes, and yet she makes everything new. Generation after generation, she enters souls and shapes them into God’s friends and prophets.” (Wisdom 7: 24-26)
How shall I live this Word?
Wisdom is a virtue that God grants to human beings, strengthening it in them when they invoke the Holy Spirit. It must be clarified that the wise person is not always learned. Certainly culture is a gift that, by attending schools or courses specifically offered today, can enrich and strengthen the person. But culture must be assimilated
Until becoming Wise, the person must first of all form a good conscience, a capacity to discern what is good and what is bad, always comparing what is read and listened to with the illuminating content of the Bible and of teachings of the Church..
Lord, grant me Wisdom, not to appear wise and learned, but to be rooted in what You came to teach us in the Gospels and in Your Church.
The voice of Quinto Ennio, Roman Author
Wisdom that is not able to benefit oneself, is useless to know.
