EASTER THURSDAY 2

WORD of the DAY

The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy. For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit. The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.                        (John 3: 31-36)

How shall I live this Word?

Jesus is explicit. We have no excuses now that He has come among us. There is no other Messiah to wait for, no one else who should or can tell us who God really is. It is He, the Son, who speaks to us of the Father, who finally reveals to us the true face of God. And we, what idea do we still have of God? Our whole life could be a rebirth, a progressive liberation, if only we wanted it. Listening to the Gospel, meditating on it constantly, confronting ourselves in the light of the Spirit given in abundance are experiences that become the instrument for learning, at the school of the Teacher, who God really is. It is necessary to have the desire and the courage to abandon our old idea of God and open ourselves to His newness, to His unprecedented love.

Jesus, let Your truth enter our life more. Only in this way will we be able to understand Your love that fills, consoles, satisfies, precisely and

above all, at the moment when we feel most empty.

The Voice of  Pope Francis

God is love and we participate in His work when we love with Him and like Him. For this purpose, love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
