Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival Reaching out the young to become ambassadors of hope   Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF) is the first worldwide festival from the Salesian Congregation to unite all our young people globally to come together on a common project where they can express their creative talents and be rewarded. This festival is our own festival, and is a precious opportunity to make the name of Don Bosco resonate in the 134 countries where we are present, especially in the hearts and minds of the young people. The festival screening will take place on Thursday and Friday, 18 & 19 of November 2021. DBGYFF is structured as a creative global platform, through which young people from all over the world can showcase and build their dreams and aspirations. Inspired by the Strenna of our Rector Major,  “Moved by hope”, it is a clarion call to encourage young people to become ambassadors of hope, and agents of transformation in our society.  This film festival is indeed a gracious opportunity to go closer to the young, to encourage them and motivate them towards the common good. It is an excellent tool to focus on what matters to...

An inspiring experience of Young ADMA in Manila

By Mr Sampiano Froiland        St Ildefonso Parish Metro Manila, The Philippines, 29 August 2021 — The ADMA 2nd EAO (Online) Congress is coming up soon (11-12 September). We hope this Manila young ADMA experience will inspire many to invite our young people to get closer to Mary and thus follow Jesus.        How did the Youth ADMA start in St Ildefonso parish?        Youth ADMA started with the initiative of our Parish Priest, Fr Antonio Molavin, SDB to include all the young people as members of ADMA in order to instill in them devotion to Mary Help of Christians which has a special place in Don Bosco’s heart.        What makes you happy as a youthful ADMA member?        Being a devotee of Mary Help of Christians, being with young people with a shared common passion of propagating the devotion to Our Lady, knowing the different stories which Don Bosco told about Our Lady, serving the Church with Mary as my companion, guide and intercessor.        What are the monthly or other youth ADMA activities?        We commemorate Mary Help of Christians monthly with a...

It was the first time since the General Chapter of the Salesians which ended in March 2020. A moment of fraternity and mutual knowledge on the eve of the celebration of the 24th General Chapter of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. It was actually a family experience. This was felt and seen in and by many signs: from the joyful welcome, to the Celebration of the Eucharist with the two Councils united, at the time of the dinner together, to the various greetings and gifts exchanged. The Eucharist was presided by the Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, concelebrated by all the confreres and animated by the Councilors, and offered for the GC XXIV of the FMA; it made it possible to reciprocally express thanks for the gift of communion and fraternity, characteristics of Salesian spirituality. In his homily, the Rector Major invited us to reflect on the fact that the whole history of...
