An inspiring experience of Young ADMA in Manila

By Mr Sampiano Froiland        St Ildefonso Parish Metro Manila, The Philippines, 29 August 2021 — The ADMA 2nd EAO (Online) Congress is coming up soon (11-12 September). We hope this Manila young ADMA experience will inspire many to invite our young people to get closer to Mary and thus follow Jesus.        How did the Youth ADMA start in St Ildefonso parish?        Youth ADMA started with the initiative of our Parish Priest, Fr Antonio Molavin, SDB to include all the young people as members of ADMA in order to instill in them devotion to Mary Help of Christians which has a special place in Don Bosco’s heart.        What makes you happy as a youthful ADMA member?        Being a devotee of Mary Help of Christians, being with young people with a shared common passion of propagating the devotion to Our Lady, knowing the different stories which Don Bosco told about Our Lady, serving the Church with Mary as my companion, guide and intercessor.        What are the monthly or other youth ADMA activities?        We commemorate Mary Help of Christians monthly with a...

Formation for aspirants to Primary ADMA of Valdocco begins

22 June 2021 (ANS – Turin) – The training course for people wishing to get to know the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) began in Valdocco on Sunday, 13 June. Following the group’s own charism, the Eucharist, celebrated in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, and the recitation of the Rosary, were planned before any other activity; only afterwards did the moment of presentation of the path, of knowledge and sharing, begin. Fr Guido Errico, Rector of the basilica, invited all those present to reflect on the fact that they were gathered right under the basilica, where the foundations from which the stone construction of the Sanctuary began, and where aspirants to ADMA can also lay the foundations of their journey. Renato Valera, President of Primary ADMA, then highlighted that all over the world many groups walk together to get to know Mary and to transform their lives through her in imitation of Jesus. Fr Alejandro Guevara, World Spiritual Animator of ADMA, instead proposed to look at the day of the beginning of the journey as that of the conception of a new life. In this perspective, aspirants are called to be born as children of Mary,...

Italy – Primary ADMA animates new summer of family activities

The experience of the Spiritual Exercises of families animated by the Association of Mary Help of Christians (Primary ADMA) of Turin, this year sees numerous families carve out a few days in one of the Salesian centers in Valdocco, Colle Don Bosco, Avigliana, Cumiana and Saint Oyenne in June-July 2021. The pandemic has changed the way we all come together in the Alpine setting of Pracharbon, but has not diminished the desire to meet with a new heart and new rules. Three-days retreats proposed to pray, reflect and share, to put oneself in the school of St. Joseph of which the 150th anniversary of the proclamation as Patron of the Universal Church is celebrated. So what better occasion to return once again to the school of Nazareth and to abide spiritually with the Holy Family to become “holy families”? Contemplating St. Joseph and his silent and chaste life in the spiritual exercises fits perfectly with the spirituality of ADMA, which keeps its gaze fixed on Jesus and Mary and intends to make them present in the homes of its members, to be able to admire, love and serve them. It is in this perspective and with this aim that the condition...

“What has changed in your life after joining ADMA?” Some new ADMA members share

(ANS – Seoul) – On the liturgical feast of Mary Help of Christians, May 24, during the Eucharist at which Fr Marcello Baek, Vice-provincial of Korea, presided, 7 new members of ADMA (Association of Mary Help of Christians) were welcomed in Seoul, capital of South Korea. During the Eucharist in the FMA provincial house chapel (Seoul, Shin-gil-dong) a good number of FMA Sisters were present, represented by their provincial, Sr. Cecilia Kim (5 communities are located in the same compound), and young people who are accompanied by the Salesian Sisters. The first promised members of Seoul’s ADMA group are Maria Yoo, Miriam Kim, Monica Ryoo, Gracia Na, Justina Baek, Teresa Park, and Bernard Yoo. They have been prepared by their Spiritual Animator, Sr. Susanna Lee, over the past 3 years in weekly formation sessions held in the FMA provincial house, Seoul. We asked each of the first Seoul ADMA group: What changed in your life after you joined ADMA? # During the last 3 years of formation I have studied the ADMA regulations, the Introduction to the Devout Life (St Francis de Sales) and ADMA Online. In this way, I have begun to model my life according to Don Bosco and Mary...

Fr Alejandro Guevara: “The Salesian Family is a Marian family and cannot be understood without the presence of Mary”

Fr Alejandro Guevara Rodríguez is the Worldwide Spiritual Animator of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA). In this month of May, dedicated to Mary, and a few days after the Feast Day of Mary Help of Christians, we publish this interview in which he talks about the association today. In 2019 the Primary ADMA of Turin celebrated its 150th anniversary. What does this anniversary mean? Celebrating 150 years for any group is a cause for celebration and joy. Not all associations or groups come to celebrate it. But above all, ADMA today is much more than it was 150 years ago: it is truly a widespread reality on the five continents, with 817 local ADMA groups and a total of over 100,000 members around the world. Local groups are rejuvenating and revitalizing. ADMA today is a growing and expanding association. Growing inward and outward: it grows in spirituality, with two pillars: devotion to Mary Help of Christians and to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. And it also grows outwardly, because it grows in solidarity and ministry. How are local groups behaving in times of a pandemic? We are all experiencing the pandemic … What strikes me positively...
