Families share stories on their experience of “Amoris laetitia” – Vatican News

Families share stories on their experience of “Amoris Laetitia” On March 25, the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, will inaugurate an initiative dedicated to the Apostolic Exhortation, five years after its publication. Ten families from around the world will offer their video testimonies reflecting on the papal document. Cardinal Farrell calls it “an invitation to understand today’s challenges and the blessings of family life.” By Alessandro De Carolis “The Joy of Love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church.” The opening words of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, which Pope Francis promulgated on 19 March 2016, express what the prevailing sentiment of the universal Church is toward the “domestic church” of the family. With great care and depth, the 325 paragraphs of the papal document enter into the “flesh” of family fragilities and then revive the beauty of these bonds according to God’s plan. Celebrating 5th anniversary Five years later, the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life has decided to celebrate this anniversary and launch a special year desired by Pope Francis and inspired by Amoris laetitia by offering a series of initiatives. These include a space for the witness of...

Amoris laetitia and Saint Joseph – a special connection – Vatican News

Amoris laetitia and Saint Joseph – a special connection The “Amoris Laetitia Family” Year begins on the Solemnity of St. Joseph, during the Year dedicated to the Patron of the Universal Church, and five years after the publication of the Pope’s post-synodal Exhortation. These two important occasions demonstrate remarkable continuity. By Benedetta Capelli Saint Joseph and the family form a bond of tenderness that is immediately recognizable. Pope Francis described the Saint at Wednesday’s General Audience as a “just and wise man,” a beloved Father, welcoming yet in the shadows. He is a father of creative courage, as we read in Patris Corde, the Apostolic Letter with which the Pope proclaimed the Year of St. Joseph on 8 December 2020. The year overlaps with that of Amoris Laetitia Family, which begins on Friday, the solemnity of Mary’s husband, five years after the publication of Amoris laetitia. Pope Francis, in another important association, signed the Apostolic Exhortation on 19 March 2016 during the Jubilee of Mercy and under the protection of St. Joseph. In the conclusion of Amoris laetitia, the many threads of this fabric, woven of love for the Church and her children, are reconnected. A Prayer to the Holy Family Jesus, Mary...
