US Bishops Foster Eucharistic Devotion with New Document

CHURCH UNITED STATES BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE EUCHARIST The Bishops of the United States vote to approve a document entitled “The Mystery of the Eucharist in the Life of the Church”, and link it to a pastoral plan for Eucharistic renewal. By Devin Watkins US Bishops are calling on American Catholics to “enter more deeply by faith and love” into the Mystery of Mysteries, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Meeting for the Fall General Assembly of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Bishops on Wednesday approved a document dedicated to the Eucharist with a secret electronic vote of 222 in favor and 8 against, with 3 abstentions – an overwhelming consensus of over 95%. The Foundations of Science A Catholic Elementary School Science Curriculum The Foundations of Science series introduces children to the wonders of the natural world in light of God’s providential care over creation, and the first 4 volumes are releasing over the course of the 2021-22 academic year. Foundations of Science covers an extensive scope of scientific studies, from animals and plants, to the depths of the ocean and the marvels of our planet. Still more, it reveals the intricate order found beneath the surface of creation and chronicles many of the Church’s contributions to science throughout history. The first volume, Animals: Creatures of the Wild, offers a tour of the animal kingdom and the habitats in which mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and fish live and thrive. Children will discover how animals find and hunt for food, how and why they live in concert with other animals, why they migrate or hibernate, and more. What do animals have to do with our Catholic Faith? How is virtue similar to the protective exoskeleton of some insects? And how does a lesson on reptiles lead to a discussion of Mary’s battle with Satan from Genesis to Revelation? The accompanying video lecture series connects lessons from the textbook to truths about faith,...
