Ongoing formation of the Salesian Family: Talk by Fr Pascual Chávez   Turin, Italy – October 2021 – On Sunday 17 October, as part of the Day of the Salesian Cooperators held at the Auditorium in Valdocco, an ongoing formation session for the Salesian Family was held with the animative inputs of Fr Pascual Chávez Villanueva, Rector Major Emeritus. His keynote address centered on the Encyclical Letter Laudato sì by Pope Francis and also deepened the eighth post-chapter guide line delivered to the Congregation by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime: “Accompanying young people towards a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”. “Leadership in the Association of Salesian Cooperators” Regional Meeting

20 October 2021 (ANS – Guadalajara) – The Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-America region held their second virtual training meeting on Sunday, October 17, which revolved around the theme “Leadership in the Association of Salesian Cooperators”. Three hundred cooperators participated, coming from the thirteen countries that make up the region and from other countries as well. Alfredo Algandar, the Provincial Coordinator for Mexico North, welcomed all the participants. The world councilor of the Interamerica Region Francisco Burciaga also addressed the attendees with a few words. Fr Alejandro Zepeda, SDB, illustrated the guiding theme and encouraged participants to assume leadership with the characteristics that Don Bosco offers, expressed in the Statute of the Project of Apostolic Life, so as not to get lost in things that do not go with the Salesian charism: – Seeing, listening, and capturing what is affecting girls, boys, adolescents, and young people today. – experiencing authentic compassion to allow ourselves to be moved by the Holy Spirit who keeps us in constant motion. – upholding fidelity to the promise made by the fervent desire to serve God and His children most in need. By Salvatore Cernuzio Listening without prejudice; speaking out with courage and parrhesia; dialoguing with the Church, with society, and with the other Christian confessions. The General Secretariat for the Synod has published the Preparatory Document, along with a Vademecum (or handbook) to indicate the guiding principles that will direct the path of the Synod on Synodality. The solemn opening of the Synod will take place in Rome on October 9-10, and in the particular Churches on October 17; and will conclude in the Vatican in 2023 with the assembly of bishops from around the world. The Preparatory Document, released on Tuesday, is intended above all to be an instrument facilitating the first phase of listening and consultation of the People of God in the particular Churches, which will take place from October 2021 to April 2022. Formation for aspirants to Primary ADMA of Valdocco begins

22 June 2021 (ANS – Turin) – The training course for people wishing to get to know the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) began in Valdocco on Sunday, 13 June. Following the group’s own charism, the Eucharist, celebrated in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, and the recitation of the Rosary, were planned before any other activity; only afterwards did the moment of presentation of the path, of knowledge and sharing, begin. Fr Guido Errico, Rector of the basilica, invited all those present to reflect on the fact that they were gathered right under the basilica, where the foundations from which the stone construction of the Sanctuary began, and where aspirants to ADMA can also lay the foundations of their journey. Renato Valera, President of Primary ADMA, then highlighted that all over the world many groups walk together to get to know Mary and to transform their lives through her in imitation of Jesus.
