The initiative was announced by Pope Francis on Sunday during the Angelus when he said “I invite everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication”. From Fr. Tim Zak: Tomorrow is the 24th of the month.  During the pandemic of the corona virus, the Salesian Family has been praying an extraordinary novena to Mary Help of Christians.  We conclude the novena with the Consecration of the World to Mary Help.  Naturally, we can include the traditional blessing of Mary Help of Christians, thinking of the many people who are relying on our prayers and those for  whom we have promised to pray. Praying the prayer for deliverance from the corona virus doesn’t have to end tomorrow.  Individually or as communities we can continue using the prayer included in the extraordinary novena or another prayer such as the Memorare for this intention.   Wednesday is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.  The Pope has invited all Christians, of all denominations and in all places, to join together in praying the Our Father at noon (Rome time – 7AM Eastern USA time).   This Friday, March 27, the Pope will give a special Urbi et Orbi blessing (6pm Rome time – 1PM Eastern USA time).
