VIDEO OF HIS VISIT and HOLY MASS WITH THE FMA IN HALEDON, NJ See all links below the following article for a full recounting of his visit to the St. Philip the Apostle and St. Joseph Provinces 25 November 2022 (ANS – Ramsey) – Thursday, November 24, was the American national holiday of Thanksgiving, a tradition rooted in the nation’s 17th-century settlement by the English. For that occasion and for the visit of Fr. Ángel Fernandez Artime to the Eastern U.S. and Canada Province (SUE), the Salesian community of Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, extended an invitation to the feast to all the SDBs who would be able to come. And come they did! All the local confreres of New York and New Jersey came, plus those from Boston and Maryland (each a four-hour drive away), and confreres also from the far corners of the U.S. part of the province—from Chicago, New Orleans, and Tampa. Most of the SDBs from those three presences had come east or north in order to take part in the Rector Major’s meeting with Salesians in formation on Friday the 25th at Orange, New Jersey. A total of 86 Salesians planned...

10 January 2022 (ANS – Rome) – In the year dedicated to Father Paolo Albera for the centenary of his death, the Spanish Salesian Fr Jesús-Graciliano González, a member of the Association of Salesian History Scholars (ACSSA), has published the chronicles of Fr Albera’s visit to America from 1900 to 1903, taking up the texts of Fr Calogero Gusmano published in the Salesian Bulletin of the time; and the five trips that Fr Albera made to Spain between 1883 and 1913, again according to the chronicles in the Salesian Bulletin of that time. The Sector for Formation of the Salesian Congregation considers these books – published on Amazon and accessible from anywhere in the world both in paper and digital format – a wonderful contribution to get to know better the second Successor of Don Bosco at the head of the Salesian Congregation. From the pages of the era’s Salesian Bulletin, it is possible to perceive the enthusiasm that the figure of Don Bosco and his work signified during the expansion of the Congregation in America and Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. These two books are a beautiful tribute to Father Albera in the year dedicated to him for...

Following the scheme that proved to be very effective last year, the SFSD 2022 foresee a double level of participation with live broadcasting on each of the four days from 13:00 to 15:00 (UTC + 1) of the worldwide appointments, and the creation of complementary activities at the regional level, managed with different times and methods, by the respective teams. The world events will all be broadcast live by ANS on its Facebook page and YouTube channel, in five languages (Italian, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese). 24 December 2021 (ANS – Rome) – Everything is now ready: on Monday, 27 December 2021, the Salesian Family from all over the world will be able to watch the official presentation of the Strenna of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, for the year 2022. The theme of the message, already announced months ago – “Do all through love, nothing through constraint” – is inspired by St. Francis de Sales, on the 400th anniversary of his death, and will be accompanied by the traditional video. As per tradition, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Father and Center of Unity of the Salesian Family, will be the first to deliver his message of the Strenna for the new year to the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians at their Generalate. Fr Á.F. Artime will illustrate the message and the preview video to the new FMA Mother General, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, and to a small group of her sisters. The presentation of the Strenna is a moment that involves the whole Salesian Family in welcoming the Rector Major’s gift of the inspiring theme of the pastoral year, which invites us to look in the same direction on...
