The Salesian Bulletin at the time of Don Bosco

The Salesian Bulletin is an original creation by Don Bosco who founded it in August 1877. Don Bosco himself was it’s first director. The first “official” issue of the Bulletin opens with a letter from Don Bosco: “To the Salesian Cooperators”. In the first draft of the regulation of the Cooperators, Don Bosco wrote: “Each month, the members will be given an overview of the things proposed, done or that they intend to do through a printed Bulletin or leaflet.” (Biographical Memoirs XI, 538). In 1879, it was published for the first time in French and in 1881 in Buenos Aires, the first “Boletín Salesiano” was published in Spanish. Today it is present in all 5 continents, with 59 editorial offices around the world. RELATED ARTICLE(S) The Valdocco printing press RMG – Fr. Now Di BOSCo is ready to come to Canada and the US with the help of our Salesian Family members and friends. Peter will explain how this network came to be and how we can make it a reality for North America at this gathering. For whom is the gathering? “Leadership in the Association of Salesian Cooperators” Regional Meeting

20 October 2021 (ANS – Guadalajara) – The Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-America region held their second virtual training meeting on Sunday, October 17, which revolved around the theme “Leadership in the Association of Salesian Cooperators”. Three hundred cooperators participated, coming from the thirteen countries that make up the region and from other countries as well. Alfredo Algandar, the Provincial Coordinator for Mexico North, welcomed all the participants. The world councilor of the Interamerica Region Francisco Burciaga also addressed the attendees with a few words. Fr Alejandro Zepeda, SDB, illustrated the guiding theme and encouraged participants to assume leadership with the characteristics that Don Bosco offers, expressed in the Statute of the Project of Apostolic Life, so as not to get lost in things that do not go with the Salesian charism: – Seeing, listening, and capturing what is affecting girls, boys, adolescents, and young people today. – experiencing authentic compassion to allow ourselves to be moved by the Holy Spirit who keeps us in constant motion. – upholding fidelity to the promise made by the fervent desire to serve God and His children most in need. The motto of the meeting was “Called to be salt and light for...
