Sr. Ruth Stecker, FMA – RIP

Add a Memory Sr. Ruth Stecker, FMA – 1926-2019 – Requiescat in pace, Sr. Ruth! Haledon – Sr. Ruth Stecker was born on October 26, 1926 in Richmond Hill, NY to Kathryn Kiernan and Philip Stecker and died on March 23, 2019 at 92 years of age at St. Joseph Provincial Center, Haledon, NJ. A Salesian Sister for 73 years, she served the young lovingly and joyfully as a teacher, catechist, school principal, and community Animator in various schools of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts. Students, parents, parishioners, and friends loved her genuine interest in their life and her willingness to help and to radiate God’s tenderness through her kindness. Sr. Ruth is survived by her brother Warren Stecker of Newark, NJ. Family and Sisters will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 2 to 5pm at the St. Joseph Provincial Center, 655 Belmont Avenue, Haledon. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and entombment. Everyone is invited to the repast at St. Joseph Provincial Center. La Madre’s Gratitude Day 2018

Visit of Mother Yvonne in Paraguay Asunción (Paraguay). From 17 to 29 April 2018, the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is in Paraguay for her visit to St. Raphael Archangel Province (PAR) and for the World Feast of Gratitude that will take place in Asunción. On April 17, at “Silvio Pettirossi” International Airport in Asunción, Paraguay, Mother Yvonne Reungoat arrived. To welcome her were many FMA, Youth, animators / educators, and members of the Salesian Family: a child offered flowers to Mother and a young girl played the Harp, symbol of the Paraguayan tradition. Mother Yvonne expressed her joy and emotion to find herself in this land so rich and welcoming. From the airport, Mother went to Mary Help of Christians School, where the great reception feast began with the presence of the Mayor of the City of Asunción, Mario Ferreiro, who gave Mother Yvonne a commemorative plaque of her presence in Paraguay.
