04 February 2022 (ANS – Rome) – Among the many initiatives that this year intend to help rediscover the figure of Saint Francis de Sales on the fourth centenary of his death, there is one designed for the ordinary rhythm of life of the Salesian communities. There are 5 videos lasting between 10 and 15 minutes, which are well-suited to the time usually used for spiritual reading and bedtime. They will be shared throughout the year on a bimonthly basis. It is a project carried out together by the Youth Ministry of the Special Circumscription of Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta (ICP) and the Formation Sector of the Salesian Headquarters with the technical support of the ICP Social Communication office. Guiding those interested in this journey is Fr Michele Molinar, Provincial Vicar and Delegate for Formation of ICP, who for many years has been guiding groups of the Salesian Family to discover their charismatic roots through pilgrimages to the Salesian places in Haute-Savoie, inhabited by St. Francis by Sales. There is a rich proposal of passages chosen from the writings of St. Francis de Sales, to which Fr Livio Demarie, of the Salesians of Turin-Crocetta, lends his voice. In the opening...

Diocesan World Youth Day on 21 November 2021 CHURCH WYD DIOCESES ART YOUNG PEOPLE The idea comes from the Ramón Pané Foundation: a competition for groups from any country in the world who wish to present a choreography inspired by the song “Jesus says to me: ‘Get up!'”, a song that will animate the diocesan World Youth Day on 21 November. Registration expires on Sunday 14 November and the winners will be awarded free participation at the Lisbon 2023 events. By Gabriella Ceraso A song is being developed to journey together towards World Youth Day in Lisbon 2023. The lyrics are ready and draw inspiration from the theme of WYD 2021: “Stand up. I appoint you as a witness of what you have seen” (from Acts 26:16). The new song is entitled “Jesus says to me: Get up!” and it will become the soundtrack of the World Day that will be celebrated in the local churches and dioceses this November 21, the Feast of Christ the King, according to the plans established by Pope Francis. It is not an official hymn, but one more element to help spread among young people the Lord’s invitation to “Stand up (arise).” This marks...

Vatican City, Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, 28 May 2021 — In the midst of the busy end of May we could just miss the conclusion of the Laudato Si’ Week (May 17-24) or the end of the Laudato Si’ Year (May 24, 2020-2021). At the same time, under direct inspiration of Pope Francis’ Encyclical published in 2015, the Vatican Dicastery for Integral Development (Card. Peter K.A. Turkson) launched the long planned ‘Laudato Si’ Action Platform’ (https://laudatosiactionplatform.org). This means that 6 years after the publishing of the Laudato Si’ Encyclical (2015), the whole Catholic community around the world is invited to embark on another 7-year path, to bring about an effective global impact on caring for our common home. The Vatican-led tool will empower Catholic institutions, communities, movements, religious congregations and families to implement Laudato Si’ with concrete goals, strategies and resources. There is already an ambitious plan to motivate the ‘critical mass’ of 3.5% Catholics around the world in order to make this movement truly effective. Cardinal Louis Antonio Tagle has already officially sent out the first ‘Laudato Si Animators’ on the last day of the Laudato Si’ Year, May...
