Launching of the Laudato Si Action Platform 2027

Vatican City, Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, 28 May 2021 — In the midst of the busy end of May we could just miss the conclusion of the Laudato Si’ Week (May 17-24) or the end of the Laudato Si’ Year (May 24, 2020-2021). At the same time, under direct inspiration of Pope Francis’ Encyclical published in 2015, the Vatican Dicastery for Integral Development (Card. Peter K.A. Turkson) launched the long planned ‘Laudato Si’ Action Platform’ (https://laudatosiactionplatform.org).        This means that 6 years after the publishing of the Laudato Si’ Encyclical (2015), the whole Catholic community around the world is invited to embark on another 7-year path, to bring about an effective global impact on caring for our common home. The Vatican-led tool will empower Catholic institutions, communities, movements, religious congregations and families to implement Laudato Si’ with concrete goals, strategies and resources. There is already an ambitious plan to motivate the ‘critical mass’ of 3.5% Catholics around the world in order to make this movement truly effective. Cardinal Louis Antonio Tagle has already officially sent out the first ‘Laudato Si Animators’ on the last day of the Laudato Si’ Year, May...

Seven Days with Pope Francis – Vatican News

Seven Days with Pope Francis At the start of the last week of Lent, Pope Francis asked all Christians to witness to the cross of Christ, the mystery we will contemplate during Holy Week. By Felipe Herrera-Espaliat The Angelus on Sunday and the General Audience both took place in the library of the Apostolic Palace due to anti-Covid precautionary measures.  These same measures will characterise the Holy Week/Easter liturgies in which a small number of the faithful will be present. The Pope assures us that as we continue to face a time of trial, Mary Most Holy is close to us with her maternal tenderness. Source: Seven Days with Pope Francis – Vatican...

Families share stories on their experience of “Amoris laetitia” – Vatican News

Families share stories on their experience of “Amoris Laetitia” On March 25, the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, will inaugurate an initiative dedicated to the Apostolic Exhortation, five years after its publication. Ten families from around the world will offer their video testimonies reflecting on the papal document. Cardinal Farrell calls it “an invitation to understand today’s challenges and the blessings of family life.” By Alessandro De Carolis “The Joy of Love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church.” The opening words of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, which Pope Francis promulgated on 19 March 2016, express what the prevailing sentiment of the universal Church is toward the “domestic church” of the family. With great care and depth, the 325 paragraphs of the papal document enter into the “flesh” of family fragilities and then revive the beauty of these bonds according to God’s plan. Celebrating 5th anniversary Five years later, the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life has decided to celebrate this anniversary and launch a special year desired by Pope Francis and inspired by Amoris laetitia by offering a series of initiatives. These include a space for the witness of...

“It’s time for GC28”: Rector Major’s 2nd video on 6-year roadmap is available

(ANS – Rome) – In December 2020, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, inaugurated a series of videos entitled “It’s time for GC28”, designed with the aim of deepening the eight Program Lines for the new six years contained in the document “Post-Chapter Reflections”. As already mentioned, the initiative provides for the publication of a video approximately every three months, thus completing, within a couple of years, the presentation of all eight program guidelines. “The second programmatic line for the whole Congregation,” the Rector Major begins in the video, “says this: it is urgent for us to really put into action the DA MIHI ANIMAS, CETERA TOLLE”. Never as in these times, continues the Successor of Don Bosco, is it necessary to have the ability to accompany young people on their respective paths of growth and to be, for them, witnesses of the Faith. The video is available – in Italian, Spanish, English, French and Portuguese – in the ANSChannel language channels.
