Family, Vocation, Catholic Basics, and More from St. Paul-Inside-the-Walls

This three-session course focuses on the universal call to holiness and our living out of that call—in and through our own personal vocations. Whether married or single, a priest or in consecrated life, each of us has been given a unique mission in building up the Church. In accepting and fulfilling this mission, we often discover opportunities to mentor others and to help them recognize what God is calling them to do as well. Understanding that we are not meant to be lone rangers will not only benefit us spiritually, but should also inspire us to help guide those we encounter in our ministries and daily lives towards an ever-deepening relationship with God and others too. This course meets on three consecutive Wednesdays:  November 3, 10, and 17 at 7:30pm  Register Here Fr. Jared Brogan hosts the last session of Winding Thru Worship. The topic is Baptism: Called By Name to Discipleship Confirmation: Sent Out as Missionary Disciples Two Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism and Confirmation, have been understood and celebrated differently throughout the history of the Church. Why is that? Where are we now? This presentation will explore these Sacraments of Initiation in terms of the call to discipleship....

The Admission of the First Candidate of Con Don Bosco (CDB)

By Br. Pham hong Phuoc, SDB Vietnam, 19 October 2020 — At 5:30 a.m. on Saturday 17 October, Fr. Joseph Quang, the provincial of the Vietnam province presided at the mass in the chapel of the Rinaldi Theologate community and chaired the admission of the candidate of CDB (Con Don Bosco – Volunteers With Don Bosco). The first CDB candidate in Vietnam put his hands in the hands of Fr. Joseph Ngoc Vinh his Ecclesiastical Assistant, who will accompany him in his vocation journey.   The new CDB candidate used to be an aspirant of the Theologate community. After some years he was not able to continue his vocation to become a Salesian. But after that he has been still cooperating with the Salesians of this community in some works for young people until now. He wanted to stay with Don Bosco in another way to cooperate with the Salesian family in his mission for young people. We together continue to pray for the growth of this special secular consecrated Salesian vocation within the Salesian family in Vietnam and in the world. Last September 12, 2020 the 86 CDB members celebrated their 26th anniversary (1994-2020) of foundation. Like the VDB...
