Fr. Don Delaney, SDB – RIP

A second wake will be observed at the Marian Shrine chapel in Haverstraw, N.Y., on Sunday afternoon, August 4, followed by another Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Don will be buried in the Salesian Cemetery at Goshen, N.Y., on Monday, August 5. Fr. Franco Pinto, Director of our Tampa Community, has informed us of the sad news of the death this morning of Fr. Donald Delaney, SDB. We pray for the repose of Fr. Don and for his family and friends and for the Tampa Community. DELANEY, Fr. Donald “Don” M., a Salesian Priest in the Catholic Religious Order of Saint John Bosco, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. Fr. Don was a native of New York. He was born to Mary Gleason and William Delaney on March 31, 1946 in Flushing, Queens. He was baptized at St. Michael’s in Flushing on April 21, 1946. Eugene F Fox AUGUST 4, 1928 ~ JULY 30, 2019 (AGE 90) Eugene F. Fox, 90, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, Ct., died July 30, 2019. He was born August 4, 1928 in Port Chester, NY to the late Andrew and Agnes O’Leary Fox. He was raised and educated in Greenwich. Mr. Fox served in the Connecticut National Guard during the Korean War in Germany.  He was married to Mary Dittel on December 25, 1950 at Holy Rosary church in Port Chester.  Mr. Fox was an electrician with Local #3 in White Plains and worked for Port Chester Electric.  He was a devoted parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church and was active with several groups.  Mr. Fox is survived by his wife Mary Fox of Greenwich, daughters Margaret Diaz and husband Victor and Clare Fox both of Port Chester, son in law Philip Abenavoli of Greenwich, grandchildren Ann Harnett (Richard), Christina Diaz, Mark Diaz (Rebecca), Rachel Abenavoli, Victoria Diaz and Stephen Abenavoli, great grandchildren Ryan Harnett, Oliver Diaz and Christopher Diaz and many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Fox was predeceased by his daughter Kathryn Abenavoli, brothers Raymond and James Fox and sister Peggy Hansen.  Visitation will be 4-8PM on Thursday August 1,...

Sr. Carmen Palacios, FMA – RIP

Sr. Maria del Carmen Palacios, FMA, the second of 7 children, & a native of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, died peacefully at the age of 72, on April 16, 2019 at the Provincial House of the Salesian Sisters in San Antonio, TX. Sr. Carmen served the Lord and His children with contagious joy, unwavering enthusiasm and ardent passion as a teacher in several Eastern States, in Texas and in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Her last assignment was in Bellflower, CA as a Director of Religious Education and Faith Formation.  Her devotion to Jesus and Mary was life-giving for herself and for everyone who was blessed to have known her. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Sr. Carmen is survived by two brothers, two lay sisters and one sister who is also a Salesian Sister.  She is also survived by other relatives and her religious community, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians – Salesian Sisters. Olga De Filippi Seaford, DE – De Filippi, Olga (nee Manunta), age 101 went home to God to join her husband Alfredo on April 3, 2019 in Seaford, DE. Beloved wife of the late, Dante A. De Filippi (1997). Loving mother of Aldo B. De Filippi of Lompac, CA, Ilda G. D’Onofrio of Union, Wanda L. Frezza and her husband Charles of Millsboro, DE, Gloria C. Capon and her husband William of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Sr. Emy De Filippi F.M.A of North Haledon. Dear grandmother of Patricia, Christine, Paul, Jenny, Laura, Nikki, Billy, Alex, and Andria. Doting great-grandmother of 7. Sister of the late Aristide Manunta. Born in Milan, Italy, to Gemma and Pietrino Manunta on December 9, 1917. She married “Fredo” her French sweetheart in 1946 and moved to America in 1949. She lived in Haledon, Paterson, and Wayne before moving to Seaford, DE.
