FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD
Fifth Tuesday of Easter Time

WORD of the DAY
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father. (John 14: 27-28)
How shall I live this Word?
In spite of the great progress in the field of technology and generally, in scientific research, our epoch does not shine with the affirmation of the peace we desire at the level of the entire cosmos.
Therefore, these words of Jesus are truly therapeutic for not allowing ourselves to be interiorly upset. It is not by chance that they come from the Gospel of John, the Apostle who most closely succeeded in capturing the inner life of his and our Rabbi Jesus. It is absolutely necessary that this gift come from his heart. And if it is received by our heart, we become people who render more beautiful and livable, not only our life, but also that of those who live with us and around us.
Lord Jesus, totally immerse me in the sovereign gift of Your peace. In this way, I too can collaborate in making the earth new.
The Voice of Holy Bishop Tonino Bello, on the road to Beatification
We love the world and its history.
Let us love it well.
Let us use mercy.
Let us work so that its chronicle
May become a history of peace and salvation.
