In the communication from May 9, 2020, received from Mother Yvonne Reungoat, General
Superior of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, I was informed that, in agreement
with the Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, she designated as a World Delegate of the Institute of
the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the Association of Salesians Cooperators
who will start its World Delegate service on May 24, 2020.

Therefore I ask you to communicate this to all the Provincial Councils, making sure that this
information reaches, through the Local Centres, all the Salesians Cooperators of your Regions.
It is right to thank, with great gratitude and affection, Sister Leslye who has accompanied us since
2008, together with Fr. Casti, on a journey of growth, with availability, competence, joy and a sense of
belonging, showing attachment and passion for the Association of Salesians Cooperators and the whole
Salesian Family.

Some biographical notes for those who do not know Sr. Lucrecia.

She was born in Medellin (Colombia). She discovered her Salesian vocation through seeing the film
about Mother Mazzarello “Branches of a strong country, Tralci di una terra forte.”

From that moment, the life of Sister Lucrecia was based on the choice of Mother Mazzarello: “I
chose God and forever”!

She made a religious profession on January 24, 1982 and immediately began to discover that her
“dominant passion was being a teacher”.

She was a teacher in primary, middle and high schools. She was school coordinator and dean of
public and private schools, as well as a Provincial Coordinator of Social Communication and a member of
the Provincial Team from 1998 to 2004.

Her more direct contact with the Salesian Family dates back to 1998, when she carried out the role
of Provincial Vicar.

There she had the opportunity to get to know closer the Past Pupils, the Salesians Cooperators, the
Salesian Dames, the Don Bosco Volunteers (VDB) and other groups, present in the Consulta board of
the Salesian Family of Colombia.

She became a provincial (2005-2010) and promoted the walk together with the Provincial Councils
of FMA Past Pupils and of the Salesians Coopeartors, carrying out apostolic projects, several formation
sessions and celebrations of the Salesian Family.

The possibility of having participated in the last three General Chapters of the FMA Institute has
widened Sister Lucrecia’s view to see the development and the upswing of the Salesian Family Area: the
charismatic roots are well rooted under the guidance of the Spirit that makes fruitful the tree of this great

At this moment there is a strong awareness that the Spirit shares the Salesian mission with many
lay people to put us together at the service to young people, who are most in need in all social and cultural
contexts and in different ways.

We therefore welcome Sister Lucrecia and make her feel our warmth and assure her of our support
in her service as a World Delegate.

We entrust her to Mary Help of Christians on the Feast day.

With a fraternal embrace,

Antonio Boccia
The World Coordinator
