WORD of the DAY

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming.
(John 16: 12-13)

How shall I live this Word?

The time of farewell is near. Jesus would still have many things to say, but He fears that His closest friends cannot bear the weight of the secrets of the Kingdom. But soon the Spirit will come, the ‘inner Master’ who will “guide you to all truth”, that is, He will illumine everything He has heard from the Father and will rend the heavens into new worlds and fascinating realities. He is ‘more intimate to us than we are to ourselves’, He is the soul of our soul and knows every fiber of our heart, every thread of our thoughts. Then there will be peace. Burdens will become light. Listening to the Word will become music and Grace for our soul, a gift of joy and hope for those around us.

I will make up a personal prayer to the Spirit, an invocation that I will repeat often during the day, inviting Him to come to dwell in me.

The Voice of Elizabeth of the Trinity
O, my God, Trinity whom I adore, pacify my soul, make it Your heaven, Your dwelling, and the place of Your repose. O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life listening to You. I want to make myself totally available and learn everything from You.
