WORD of the DAY

When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,” and to offer the sacrifice of “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,” in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord. (Luke: 2: 22-23)

How shall I live this Word?
A few words to say that Jesus, although He was the Son of God, fully submits Himself to the law of Moses. He who was already recognized as the Savior before He was conceived in the womb, is brought by His mother to the Temple to be presented to the Lord. It is the grand mystery of the incarnation of a God who takes on human reality in the body and in the spirit and is involved in the daily life of the time, in the rhythms and usages of the Hebrew religion. Only a few people are aware of His presence. There is Simeon who receives Him as the promise and the reality of salvation, the prophetess Anna greets Him with her silent prayer. Jesus, His Mother Mary, and Joseph the just man advance in simplicity. With a humble heart, they bear the Savior of the world!
As I think of this event, I will repeat often during the day: “My Lord and my God! as I adore the mystery of the incarnation.
