DESCRIPTIONS

And the weekend in greater detail:
Certainly, the Preventive System stands on our living in union with God, expressed in personal prayer, community prayer, and, most strongly, the living of a Sacramental Life; therefore, there will be perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Holy Mass, the availability for Confession, and recitation of the Holy Rosary offered. Without a doubt, this is a perfect fit for a year in which we are called by Holy Mother Church to return to a strong devotion to Jesus’ True Presence in the Consecrated Host, at Mass, and in Adoration. The role of the emcee is to make explicit to all present how this is so and is a planned unfolding of this, our charismatic gift.
A second, but no less important aim is to educate parents and families to know where to turn when in need of help. To fulfill this purpose, we are inviting counselors and representatives of local Dioceses who can offer their presence, expertise, and guidance to the participants. In addition, we are inviting vendors to offer for sale educational resources which can help the young and their families continue the work begun at the gathering to grow in our Faith, in well-being, and in creating the domus ecclesiae in their homes. Then, in turn, to reach out to friends and other families to share with them the graces they received during the Festival.
The final aim is to encourage the Salesian Family and all present to become involved in outreach to other families; therefore, we are extending the invitation to groups which advocate for families as well as those already involved in family ministry.
Pope St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body teachings will figure prominently, as will Pope Francis’ teachings of Evangelii Gaudium, Laudato Si’, Fratelli Tutti, and Christus Vivit. The Global Compact on Education and the findings of the Salesian Madrid Conference on uniting youth ministry with family ministry will also have their parts to play.
