FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD
Seventh Thursday of Easter Time

WORD of the DAY
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me. I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them. (John 17: 26 )
How shall I live this Word?
Today we meditate on this circle of love and knowledge that binds us together, with Christ in the Father. Two voices that have always come close to us and want to make us know and welcome them: the Father has revealed Himself slowly but effectively in history; a few individuals, then a people, welcomed Him, loved Him, and guarded Him. Christ accomplishes this progressive revelation by incarnating God in our humanity: the creature becomes the place of the complete and definitive manifestation of God, without hesitation or possible misunderstanding. In Christ the vocabulary for saying God is accessible and humanity learns to penetrate this mystery. But Jesus the Christ at some point returns to the Father. The demonstrated, taught, transmitted love shared with His own remains. The Spirit remains. And these remain and are in us today.
Lord, make us aware of the divine dwelling in us. Help us to understand that remaining in harmony with the Spirit leads us to the truth that we desire and seek.
The Voice of the Sequence of the Holy Spirit
If thou take thy grace away,
Nothing pure in man will stay;
All his good is turned to ill.
