32nd Tuesday of Ordinary Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 32nd Tuesday of Ordinary Time November 12, 2019 WORD of the DAY “When you have done all you have been commanded say, ‘We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.” (Luke 17: 10) How shall I live this Word? Here Jesus addresses us with a strong word, but closely linked to the normality of life. The scene that the text presents here concerns the saying and working of a master with his servant. We also take into account the mentality and habits of the time of Jesus. The fact is that, very naturally, the master demands that the servant prepare food. In the life of the Christian it is beautiful that this order is manifested. Yes, God the Creator is a Father who loves us. But, as in well-ordered houses, servants also love the master when he acts like a father. Sometimes we hear complaints and whining from those who always find the day’s commitments heavy. Yet if person does not commit to a just, honest, and good life, their very existence goes to pieces.. Lord, grant me light and good will so that I may clearly see...
