ALL SOULS DAY

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 30th Saturday of Ordinary Time November 2, 2019 ALL SOULS DAY WORD of the DAY   As for me, I know that my vindicator lives, and that he will at last stand forth upon the dust.  This will happen when my skin has been stripped off, and from my flesh I will see God:  I will see for myself, my own eyes, not another’s, will behold him: my inmost being is consumed with longing.   (Job 19: 25-27)     How shall I live this Word? Job is a great person, one in whom the hope of the eternal promise becomes reality and a faith that is lived and proclaimed.  The certainty of life after death on his lips becomes the certainty for us as well, because Job is like us, one who has suffered, one who has known fear, one who has doubted, just like us!  Job helps us to understand our doubts, our fears.  Job is one who when faced with suffering and death, built the certainty of eternal life.   Eternal life is built here, now, in the routine, each day, seeking and finding God in everyday life, like Fr.
