31st Friday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Friday November 9, 2018 Thirty First Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”  The Jews said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?”  But he was speaking about the temple of his body.  Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the scripture and the word Jesus had spoken. (Jn 2: 19-22)   How shall I live this Word? The temple of his Body, the Body of the Risen One, is the new temple and in Him all ‘human flesh’ becomes the dwelling place of God among us. The human face of Jesus is the place where every person can meet the gaze of the Father, contemplate His face and listen to His word. Everyone is called to become ‘a place of encounter with God’ for himself and for others.
