FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 30th Tuesday of Ordinary Time October 27, 2020 WORD of the DAY Then he said, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that a person took and planted in the garden. When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and ‘the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches’.” Again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed [in] with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch of dough was leavened.” (Luke 13: 18-21) How shall I live this Word? A mustard seed is infinitely small, yet from that infinite smallness a huge bush comes out! Even a single fragment, but true, authentic, faithful, and constant is enough to completely change our life. Small things are the real secret of the Kingdom of God. It is to take seriously the almost insignificant details of life and to live them with love and passion, humility, dedication, and care.
