Seventh Saturday of Ordinary Time

 FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Saturday  May 26, 2018 Week 7 of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.   When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child  will not enter it.”  Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.   (Mark 10: 13-15)  How shall I live this Word? In the flow of the Gospel pages, rich in depth and wisdom, this snapshot stands out, which grasps a fresh and genuine profile of the personality of Jesus. Here too, as in other moments, the Master uses the pedagogy of the gesture to express the need to stand and remain in a situation of service and poverty in order to be able to follow Him. His kingdom belongs only to those who are like children. But the disciples, once again, do not understand and scold the little ones who surround Jesus...

FEAST OF ST. JOHN BOSCO

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Wednesday, January 31, 2018 Week Four of Ordinary Time SAINT JOHN BOSCO   WORD of the DAY  At that time the disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”  He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.   Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.  “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believes in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.  (Matthew 18: 1-6) How shall I live this Word?
