33rd Monday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Monday November 19, 2018 Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth.    (Rev 1: 5)   How shall I live this Word? Sometimes, instead of devotion there is devotionalism that leads to depicting the Lord Christ of heaven and earth with features that are a somewhat off the mark.  Many of us have experienced a net rejection of this, especially at a young age. Yes, luckily then it became clear: you have to put aside certain deleterious representations for a serious journey of faith, but at the same time, we must have an open mind and heart to what the Holy Scripture says of Him. In the Apocalypse, (last book of the Bible) Jesus is the witness of the infinite love of God in His fidelity to the will of the Father.  He is the “Firstborn of the dead” because He has conquered death with His Resurrection.
