Third Thursday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Thursday, January 25, 2018 Week Three of Ordinary Time CONVERSION OF ST. PAUL   WORD of the DAY  I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’   I replied, ‘Who are you, sir?’ And he said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene whom you are persecuting… What shall I do, sir?  (Acts 22: 8-10) How shall I live this Word? Today we recall the conversion of St. Paul.  We close the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the memory of the life-giving experience of St. Paul that makes us reflect on an important aspect, that of action.  Paul asks, ‘What must I do?’, and crowns the vision he had of Jesus.  The Risen One is present.  He manifests Himself to the mind and heart of Paul, and His light dissipates the darkness and shadows that brought Paul to have a hostile attitude and leads him to a new life.  The question implies entrustment to Christ and to the will to act for Him.  The actions of before lose their direction and are substituted by actions, that are perhaps similar, but now...
