Second Monday of Advent

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD SECOND MONDAY OF ADVENT December 9, 2019 WORD of the DAY    He stood up immediately before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying God.  Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and struck with awe they said, “We have seen incredible things today.”     (Luke 5:  25-26)   How shall I live this Word? The paralytic stands up, takes his cot and returns home glorifying God. What a great miracle, how powerful our God is, He is truly the Lord of heaven and earth!  And in front of such a prodigy, a paralytic who walks, one cannot remain silent and one can only praise God. Blessed are those who have seen these things! And us?  We too have seen and see every day myriads of ‘incredible things’: the bright morning sun and the evening sunset, the gestures of kindness and respect towards those who are elderly, the care of parents for their child, a smile, and the joy of those who walk beside us.  All these are ‘incredible things’ because they speak of God’s love for every person, His taking care of everyone, but...
