29th Wednesday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 29th Wednesday of Ordinary Time October 23, 2019 WORD of the DAY  That servant who knew his master’s will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;   and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly.  Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.      (Luke 12: 47-48)     How shall I live this Word? Also in this parable Jesus dwells on the reality of reward and punishment with the wisdom statement: ” Much will be required of the person entrusted with much.”  In fact, even among primitive peoples, this need for fundamental justice emerges: to what is gratuitously received must correspond an easy, if possible smiling, generosity of heart.  There are people who are far from rich but capable of appreciating the gift of health, family harmony, good relations with employers, operators, and workers on the land or in the trades or other.
