32nd Tuesday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Tuesday November 13, 2018 Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   When you have done all you have been commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do’.   (Lk  17: 10)  How shall I live this Word? Our commitment to the Kingdom is not a gift we give to God but it is making fruitful the gift He has given us. Throughout our whole life we ​​are debtors to Him and we have nothing to boast about or to demand.  Jesus therefore does not want to humble us by calling us “useless servants” but to awaken in us an awareness that is the road to true joy.  It is precisely the awareness of receiving everything from God: gift upon gift, at every moment. Everything is joyfully committed to the service of the Kingdom of God, to the growth of the civilization of love, in us and around us. But in the awareness – in the fact! – that we have received all. “Useless” (not to say foolish) is the attitude of claiming rights, rewards, the graces of God. Lord Jesus, I still ask...
