Third Wednesday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Wednesday, January 24, 2018 Week Three of Ordinary Time SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES   WORD of the DAY  But that same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan: Go and tell David my servant: Thus, says the LORD: Is it you who would build me a house to dwell in?  I have never dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up from Egypt to this day, but I have been going about in a tent or a tabernacle.  As long as I have wandered about among the Israelites, did I ever say a word to any of the judges whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel: Why have you not built me a house of cedar?     (2 Samuel 7: 4-5) How shall I live this Word? To make a house for God, to close Him in a temple, in a church, is another way to profess one’s atheism.  God cannot be contained, limited, reduced to a space.  God cannot be understood or compromised.  You cannot measure Him and therefore, understand Him.  The search for God, the attempt to be in dialog with Him must have these premises...
