32nd Wednesday in Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Wednesday November 14, 2018 Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan.  Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine?  Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?”  Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you”.   (Lk  17: 15-19)   How shall I live this Word? This is the famous page of the Evangelist Luke that narrates the meeting of ten lepers with Jesus. He receives their cry of pain. They ask to be healed and this happens instantly. Nine go away and one, yes, only one, goes back on his steps to thank Jesus who gave him health and salvation. Obviously, it is not the Lord who needs their gratitude. Rather, they are the nine who should feel the urgency of this human and humanizing feeling in their hearts.
