FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD SECOND FRIDAY of ADVENT December 11, 2020 WORD of the DAY  To what shall I compare this generation? It is like children who sit in marketplaces and call to one another,  ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.’ For John came neither eating nor drinking and they said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is vindicated by her works.      (Matthew 11: 16-19) How shall I live this Word?   When we throw tantrums, like these children, we reveal the hardships and weaknesses of a humanity that has yet to mature. We always find ourselves looking for something that satisfies, for this reason we are never satisfied. We are carried along by cravings, moods, and feelings. It looks like an x-ray of our society! The Kingdom, on the other hand, asks us for change. It requires an awareness of our dignity, it asks us for a radical conversion that unmasks ‘our heart’ from excuses, justifications,...
