IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Saturday June 9, 2018 Week Nine of Ordinary Time          Commemoration of the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY  WORD of the DAY Calling his disciples to himself, he said to them, “Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. (Mark 12: 43)   How shall I live this Word? A person lives in the measure that they know how to observe, that is, DISCERN reality, grasping the positive above all.  Jesus is the observer par excellence and He taught this important art to His disciples as well.  Now He is in the temple and He is observing a woman whose clothing reveals that she is a widow and poor. Jesus sees her gesture of letting a few coins drop into the alms box that in all probability was the last of the money in her purse.  Almost at the same time, there arrives those rich persons, the scribes and pharisees, who liked to make a big show of their offerings as they did with any reality that could lend itself to arouse admiration for them on the part of the people.
