Fifth Monday of Easter

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Fifth Monday of Easter Time May 20, 2019 WORD of the DAY Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. (John 14: 21) How shall I live this Word? This is a precise and clear teaching on life. And since the synthesis of what is required of us that Jesus himself gave and St. Paul praised: is charity, what matters is to make strong contact with our conscience. So, in brief moments during the day I ask myself: am I loving Jesus or am I rendering arid my possibilities for loving? When I do not welcome, I do not listen, I do not enter into affectionate relations especially with those who live with me, I must be frank in telling myself: closing yourself in your selfish garden is equivalent to not wanting to love and therefore to rejecting Jesus Himself. It is not a question of continually judging one’s own conscience, but of growing more and more into our identity, within the daily call to be fulfilled in the vital encounter with Jesus.
