THIRD WEDNESDAY OF EASTER TIME

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD THIRD WEDNESDAY of EASTER TIME April 29, 2020 WORD of the DAY Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30) How shall I live this Word? Can a yoke be sweet and a burden light? Everything that binds us and oppresses us is never light. We will always have the bonds that keep us chained and we will always have to fight against them. Despite our desire for absolute freedom, we will never be completely free because we are always ‘bound’ by relationships that are not always serene relationships, experiences that mark us, physical and moral situations that distinguish us. These are the events that have built us, formed us, and made us who we are today. No, we cannot free ourselves from all this, it is our history, it is our life.
