Behold the Lamb of God

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD MONDAY 2 after CHRISTMAS JANUARY 4, 2021 WORD of the DAY   The next day John was there again with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.”  The two disciples  heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. (John 1: 35-39) How shall I live this Word?   Jesus begins His journey which, from beyond the Jordan, leads to Jerusalem. Along the way, He meets the Baptist, a man of expectation, who is able to intuit the event of the Messiah’s coming in Christ Jesus. And it is always John who is able to communicate to others the fulfillment of the promise of a Savior who becomes flesh in the Jewish man, Jesus of Nazareth.
