EASTER FRIDAY

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD EASTER FRIDAY April 26, 2019 WORD of the DAY After this, Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself in this way. Together were Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of his disciples. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We also will come with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Death and darkness do not disappear but return to their original vocation; they return to the service of life and light, to exalt them, make them even more effective and evident. Like the resurrection, which intervenes on a dead body but does not annul it, rather revitalizing it, leads it to unique beauty and splendor. And that body becomes worthy of heaven, of eternity. This is what we deeply desire, and which Easter gives us. To us, to our body. And here it is not about fierce techniques to lengthen the...
