THIRD TUESDAY OF ADVENT

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD THIRD TUESDAY OF ADVENT CHRISTMAS NOVENA December 17, 2019 WORD of the DAY The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham… Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Messiah. (Matthew 1: 1/16) How shall I live this Word? An infinite history that traces its roots from Abraham, our Father in the faith. A history that exudes humanity, sin and grace, like the life of every man and woman. A history that does not exclude guilt, sin, misery, mystery. Jesus, the Messiah, does not build a spotless genealogy for Himself. He came to live among us. He is God with us who takes on the shadows of our humanity and with mercy bends over those who feel the weight of their life. The long chain of those who walked before us in past centuries finally opens up to a radiant hope.
