Second Sunday of Lent

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Second Sunday of Lent, March 17, 2019 WORD of the DAY As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” But he did not know what he was saying. While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” (Luke 9: 33-35) How shall I live this Word? Lent has just begun with the journey in the desert that calls us to conversion, to the essential. But then the liturgy reaches us with the vision of Tabor. It tells us that if we make gestures of conversion and solidarity, of renunciation and fasting, of prayer it is only to be able to be free internally and, thus, see the glory of the Master.
