FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 27th Saturday of Ordinary Time October 12, 2019 WORD of the DAY While he was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it”. (Luke 11: 27-28) How shall I live this Word? The new and true knowledge of Jesus is listening to His Word. With His help, this Word must become the flesh of our flesh and life of our life. The passage of faith that must work in each of us is “listening” and “doing”, living the Word. Jesus gives us a model to imitate: Mary – His Mother – in whom, thanks to her listening and pondering, “the Word became flesh” (Jn 1:14). Listening and observing, lived in constant remembrance, will allow the Word to grow to the point of transforming us into Him. Then we will be blessed!.
