FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD EASTER SATURDAY April 18, 2020 WORD of the DAY Later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.                    (Mark 16: 14-15) How shall I live this Word? How strange this Jesus who first scolds the disciples for their unbelief and then entrusts to them the most important task, the one for which He came into the world, to proclaim the Gospel to every creature. How incomprehensible this Jesus who places His mission in the hands of people who are unbelieving and hard of heart, people who do not even believe what they see, people without faith, untrustworthy people. How strong is this Jesus who, in spite of everything, trusts His disciples and entrusts Himself and His Gospel to them, just as they are, with their fragility and limitations.
