FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD SIXTH THURSDAY OF EASTER TIME May 21, 2020 WORD of the DAY Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy. (John: 16: 20) How shall I live this Word? “Your grief will become joy.” Jesus does not take away sadness, suffering, doubt, fear, disappointment, difficulty, death. Jesus does not remove anything human from our life but enters on tip toe into our daily life, transforming it. “Your grief will become joy.” Because this is God’s secret, to transform daily existence by making it life. This is what He did with His Resurrection. This is what He did with His numerous miracles. This is what He did with His Word, bearer of hope. Enter into the present, as it is, and transform it. This is what Jesus asks of us as well. We cannot only cry about the failures and the errors, about suffering and sadness, we must roll up our sleeves and transform failures into new, rich opportunities.
