Third Thursday of Easter Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Third Thursday of Easter Time May 9, 2019 WORD of the DAY Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” …   The one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do what is pleasing to him.”  Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him.      (John 8: 21-30)   How shall I live this Word?   Described with the unmistakable stylistic trait of the so-called ‘Johannine irony’, the Pharisees – each of us can be a “Pharisee”! – flounder in ignorant...
