John is his name

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD FOURTH WEDNESDAY of ADVENT December 23, 2020 WORD of the DAY  When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy towards her, and they rejoiced with her.  When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father, but his mother said in reply, “No. He will be called John.”  But they answered her, “There is no one among your relatives who has this name.” So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called. FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Friday January 3, 2020 WORD of the DAY The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. John emphasizes the superiority of Jesus, “A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because He existed before me.” He adds “I did not know Him.” He did not know Him...
