Generously Give

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 34th Monday of Ordinary Time November 23, 2020 WORD of the DAY  When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”     (Luke 21: 1-4) How shall I live this Word?   Reading this passage from Luke, leads us to immediately think of the phrase that the Lord says to Samuel at the moment of the election of David, His servant: “Man looks at the appearance, the Lord looks at the heart”. Again in today’s passage the gaze of Jesus is placed on what is small, insignificant, poor. Jesus looks, ‘sees’, and reads inside; He is attracted to Love. He knows the depths of our heart and sees the all that we are, He sees the Love that motivates our actions.
