32nd Thursday in Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Thursday November 15, 2018 Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he said in reply, “The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is’. For behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” (Lk  17: 20-21)   How shall I live this Word? Typical of humans of every time and place is the claim to have control over time, almost to want to possess it. This is why in different eras, this mania has often exploded into forms of fear, of such panic as to sometimes cause serious trouble for defenseless populations. Yes, it is necessary that religiosity does not slip into gullibility and bigotry, where ignorance of the Holy Scriptures and the Doctrine of the Church lead to taking on a blasphemous or ridiculous appearance. Jesus clearly says a luminous and consoling truth: “The Kingdom of God is in our midst”.
