FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD FEBRUARY 2, 2021  Tuesday – Week Four PRESENTATION OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE WORD of the DAY  Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel,  and the holy Spirit was upon him.  It had been revealed to him by the holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord.  He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to Him, he took Him into his arms and blessed God, saying:  “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation,  which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.”  The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about Him… (Luke 2: 25-33) How shall I live this Word?   Simeon means “God has heard”, and this man embodies and lives his name. Fifth Wednesday of Lent

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Fifth Wednesday of Lent, March 21, 2018 WORD of the DAY   Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him,  “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.    (John 8: 31-32)   How shall I live this Word? “Those Jews who believed in Him”, needed to remain in His word, needed to make a decisive choice for Him.  Only if I trust in Him and do not limit myself only to accepting His Words, will I experience that they become the life of my life.  To believe in Jesus is to dwell in Him.  It means living in His Word.  It is the grace of His Word that conforms me to Him.  The Word is the home of being; the Word forms and gives the power to become what we truly are: children of God.
