Fifth Sunday of Easter Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Fifth Sunday of Easter Time May 19, 2019 WORD of the DAY When he had left, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. [If God is glorified in him,] God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him at once. (John 13: 31-32) How shall I live this Word? In Judas, all the darkness of misery that is sometimes in the human heart, even in ours, nested at this moment. Jesus therefore does not speak in his presence. What he says immediately after Judas’ exit concerns glorification: something sublime that concerns not only His identity as true man, but also that of true God. It is so comforting to think that in front of shows of great beauty or events of human magnanimity: in the good operated by just people is the glory of God who shines. Lord, please illumine the eyes of my mind and my heart so that I may learn to glorify You with all the love and joy that is possible for me.
