34th Saturday in Ordinary Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD December 2, 2017 34th Saturday in Ordinary Time       WORD of the DAY Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.  (Luke 21: 36) How shall I live this Word? We are on the threshold of the great expectation: The Advent of the Lord Jesus.  The word of the Teacher reaches us clearly and it re-echoes through the centuries.  “Be vigilant at all times and pray”.  Faced with the imminence of an encounter, Christians do not act like the ostrich that closes its eyes and dreams of a better world.  They are like the owl whose eyes penetrate the night’s darkness.  Advent is the time for discernment.  The darkness of a world that daily proposes experiences of death and of violence, is and will be illumined by a great light that conquers the darkness: the coming of Christ the Lord. The Voice of Silvano Fausti, Theological Biblist  Every instant is pregnant with the future.  No moment is neutral.  It is the opportunity in which fidelity and witness are played out. __________________________________________________________________________________...
